October 4-8

Dear Parents:    
* Our theme for this week is Nursery Rhymes. We will be learning some favorite rhymes such as: Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill, Hickory dickory Dock, Hey Diddle, Diddle and Mary had a Little Lamb.

We will also be reviewing for our first quarter evaluation. Evaluations will take place next week. Remember to review with your child every day for 10-15 minutes.

The content to be evaluated is listed below:

Reading Readiness: red, blue, yellow, green, orange and black.

* Your child should be able to name and recognize the colors.

Language Development:

* Your child should be able to name the vocabulary for the following themes:

My School: chair, table, lunchbox, bathroom, paint, pencil, scissors, crayon, glue, marker.
Body Parts: head, legs, feet, arms, fingers, eyes, nose, ears, mouth, hands.
Family: mother, father, baby, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather.

* Character Education: This month we are learning about Respect, our goal is: "I listen to my teachers."

Important Information:
* Next Monday, October 11 is a holiday, there will be no school.

Dear Parents:                                                         

This week we will cover the following:

Theme: Family

Concepts and skills: Color black

Vocabulary: mother, father, brother, sister, baby, grandfather and grandmother.

Character Education: Loyalty. Our goal is: "I am  proud of my country."

Important Information:

* Please send the copy of the deposit slip with your child's name on it as soon as possible.

* There will be a values presentation for Pre-School Parents this Thursday, September 30 from 5:00-6:30. The title of the presentation is: "Four Frames of Development in Pre-School Children" by: Lic. Roger Martinez, and it will take place in the Elementary Multipurpose Room.

* Don't forget to send the family picture if you have not done so.

Dear Parents:

This week we will cover the following:   

Theme: Family

Concepts and skills: Color orange

Vocabulary: mother, father, brother, sister, baby, grandfather and grandmother.

Character Education: Loyalty. Our goal is "I am proud of my country."

Important Information:

* Please send in a family picture that we can use in class if have not done so.

* This Friday is colors day, the cost is 5Lps.

* Don't forget to send the copy of the deposit slip for the class celebrations, with your child's name on it, as soon as possible.

Dear Parents:

These two days we will cover the following:

Theme: Independence

Character Education: Loyalty. Our goal is: "I sing the National Anthem with respect."

Important Information:

* Progress Reports were sent home today. If your child got one, please sign it and return it back by tomorrow.

* Please send in a family picture, that we can use in class, with your child to school.

*The Independence Holiday is Sept. 15-17.

* Due to a schoolwide early dismissal on Monday September 20th, Nursery students will not have class on this day. Classes will resume for Nursery students on Tuesday, September 21st.

* Don't forget to send the copy of the deposit slip with your child's name on it, as soon as possible.

Theme: Body Parts

Concepts and skills: Color green

Vocabulary: head, legs, feet arms, fingers, eyes, nose, ears, mouth, hands.

Character Education: Loyalty. Our goal is: "I sing the National Anthem with respect."

Important Information:

* You are invited to a schoolwide presentation this Wednesday, September 8th from 5:00-6:30 in the Elementary Multipurpose Room. The title of the presentation is: "Familias con Proposito" by Marielos Quesada.

* Don´t forget to send the copy of the deposit slip for the class celebrations, with your child's name on it as soon as possible.

* Show and tell is every Thursday for the color or theme of the week.

* Due to a schoolwide early dismissal, Nursery students will not have school on Monday, September 20th. This is the Monday right after the Independence Holiday.
